In all her life, Saerin has never had someone to call her best friend. She’s had acquaintances, and friends, but never that one special person that most people have. The biggest cause has been her older sister Miyun, who played a big part in trampling her celebrity status years ago. Now, Saerin is out of her sister’s reach, but she has a hard time establishing friendships because she’s used to keeping to herself.
The only person Saerin can consider a best friend would be her husband, Joonhyo. However, she does have a few good friends, like Rachael and Sojin for example.

From the time she could walk and talk, Saerin’s sister has been her biggest enemy. Her elder sibling has always envied Saerin’s talent and has gone to extreme lengths to try to ruin her image over the years. Not only that, she’s made two attempts on her life with the help of her ex boyfriend, who can also be considered an enemy.

Saerin was a diligent student and always managed to get along with her teachers. Her favorite teacher was a preforming arts professor, and she still holds a special place in Saerin’s heart. Her teacher brought Saerin out of her shell and helped her kick-start her acting career.

As a child Saerin was very bright and outspoken - the kind of little girl everyone loved. As she grew older though, her sister ruined a lot of her confidence and made it almost impossible for Saerin to think highly of herself. Spreading vicious rumors and setting up her for failure, Saerin’s sister truly is the bane of all of her insecurities she has to live with now.

Saerin has only been in a relationship with one person before meeting her husband. Youngjae, a man whom she was in a relationship with for three years, was not a supportive or loving boyfriend. Youngjae used Saerin for her money, while betraying her by sleeping with her sister. Saerin was not in love with him, but instead terrified of leaving him. He was a manipulative, callous man - treating her well only in front of the cameras.
They broke up when Saerin found true love with Joonhyo, which in turn infuriated Youngjae. He made an attempt on her life by breaking into her home and shooting her, but it was a failure. He fled, and has not been seen since then.
