Hello! So, there were a couple of you who messaged me about making this artwork available for print when I first posted it. So, I thought I'd do that now for the 4th anniversary of their rooftop engagement!!

nobody understands demisexual eddie like i do because what a lot of people don’t understand about asexuality (and most sexualities in general) is that your sexuality does not describe who you have sex with and what i mean by this is you can have sex with someone you’re not sexually attracted to. some people are fully asexual and have sex because it’s fun for them. so my personal headcanon is the only people eddie has ever been sexually attracted to are shannon and buck but he enjoys having sex so that’s why he misunderstood his feelings for ana and marisol. like he did fully enjoy having sex with them but there was no real emotional connection there, and because eddie doesn’t know he’s asexual (demi) he just knows he was attracted to shannon and enjoyed having sex with her so he thinks that since he’s enjoying having sex that means he’s attracted to ana/marisol. but the truth is he was attracted to shannon because of their emotional connection and enjoying having sex was a completely separate thing that had nothing to do with that; he just enjoys having sex. it’s way too late and i don’t think i’m explaining this right but this is my belief. anyway imagine how mind blowing sex with buck is going to be for him based on how amazing their emotional connection already is. yay

even aside from my insanity i really do think yes in every universe they are the kind of people who want to have kids. and i have a hard time imagining them as wanting to have just one (i think it could be fun to think about like, circumstances that might make this so, though. like fertility issues or some kind of health scare or something and then they would have to like. adjust to this other idea of what their family is going to look like because any time they talked about it i think they both agreed quickly like, they would have at Least two kids). this is because of course may has a sibling and she knows how important those bonds are! and i think if she ever thought, well if i'd been an only child - i think she would be sad about that because for as much as she and max have bickered, she would have been lonely without him. and he balances her out well and has taught her so much about what it means to take care of someone and be loved by them and etc. meanwhile drew is on the other side of this - and here's my "i made this up but it's canon to me" drew family headcanon, but i do think this guy was like, raised primarily by nannies rather than his parents, and i think he was very lonely. and also he sucked at making friends even when he did have the opportunity. so i think he likes the idea of having more than one kid because siblings are like built in friends (except when they are actually your number one opp, but hey. how would he know this, his only frame of reference here is basically may and max and they mostly get along really well)

anyway. short answer. yes :)

ok so. going back to my made up drew family headcanons. i love a dead mom. and not even necessarily an evil rich ceo dad. just like. totally emotionally walled off and maybe sad about his dead wife and just not good at being a dad. i don't think it would be a Bad relationship, but definitely strained. like this is a guy who comes around every so often and sees drew has a problem and goes "idk how to help with this, maybe throwing money at it will help" and drew isn't unappreciative of this exactly but obviously what he really needed thrown at his problems was hugs. so all that to say - i think may would be intimidated by this guy, and also i don't think drew would talk about him much so she wouldn't know what she was getting into. but i like the idea that they have a good relationship actually and maybe may has an easier time seeing how much drew's otherwise very distant father actually does care for drew and is just awkward about how he shows it -to be fair, not entirely unlike drew himself. idk about the nanny but i'd like to believe drew stays in touch with them. part of me likes the idea of him having had a male nanny (for dead mom angst reasons) but idk i admittedly haven't spent that much time thinking about this. despite the essay i have just written on the topic </3

so back to me believing in drew dead mom supremacy. i loveee the idea that drew and caroline have a really tight relationship. i think that it would initially be a bit of a weird relationship for drew on account of his dead mom but like, caroline has an Energy about her that idk, i just think would be good for him. i'd love for them to bond over stuff that others in the family maybe don't care as much about. maybe they bond via cooking or something, idk. in my fic for day 3 i made a nod to them both having an appreciation for home decor magazines. i just made that up but you know lmao. and norman i think is just like. he's a nice guy? he'd be so welcoming to drew immediately and just like, really easy to chat with and just all around very perceptive and understanding. i do think overall drew would initially feel like he sticks out a lot in the maple family but like. norman would very effortlessly integrate him (whereas caroline might be more likely to make big gestures to try to include him, that - while touching - make him feel put on the spot and awkward and really emotionally ???? because. again. the dead mom of it all)

some quickfire ostwick facts as i dip my toe into some worldbuilding:

the famous twin walls are lit by bonfires each night and the whole city seems to glow because of it, especially from the sea

its organized in multiple districts built around three large hills: the tallest hill houses the ostwick chantry, the second tallest is where the citys ancient hall is located (public decrees, meetings before the teyrn and announcements are made within and outside of the hall), and the third hall is where the citys armory is found

ostwick holds a deep reverence for the sea, something beyond deep respect. while andrastian, the city still has longstanding traditions around offerings to the sea several times a year

seaglass is treasured and prized. the ostwick chantry’s windows are made of sea glass rather than stained glass and the trevelyans donated a large sea glass window a century ago. sidri donates a similar window to the lowtown chantry in kirkwall

the famous greased cheese races are held at an annual festival honoring the retreat of the qunari in 7:56 storm. no one quite remembers how the tradition came to be. sidri is excellent at the races.
