the thing is gaster probably isnt for or against the prophecy the real question is if he created it.

he’s a scientist. scientists create obstructions and obstacles for their test subjects to overcome, and the results are part of the process, that’s a part of the test.

if gaster CREATED this version of the prophecy by somehow going back in time and implanting it into the world, it creates a game that we can follow. the last prophecy panel is scary for the main characters, but it’s just something to make the game more interesting for gaster and give us (player and gaster) a reason to experiment with darkness.

i’m just saying theres still a way gaster could’ve created the prophecy without him actually being an advocate for it. the reason why i think that could be the case is because he refers to ‘deltarune’ as his, but also encourages you to do things that ‘should’ be impossible, like beat the knight.
