Job hunting sucks and Ji-woo is feeling a bit desperate in his search for a steady paycheck. San Myshuno is more expensive in terms of living than Mount Komorebi and even then they were barely scrapping by in their little two bedroom apartment. Somehow Khi and Rome managed to plan a wedding between moving their whole lives (again) and career changes. The ceremony was beautiful, full of love and happiness for them from their family and friends. It's early 2024, winter's changing into spring and Max and Lena cannot get enough of each other. The cloud of last summer's bloodshed still hangs overhead but it's tempered by the heady rush of new love.

With the Fengs out of commission, San Myshuno’s criminal elites are chomping at the bit to be the new top dog. It’s bloody work and according to the press, the city feels more akin to Gotham with each passing day. With the once postponed race for mayor back on, both sides claim to have a solution to crack down on crime but it’s becoming increasingly obvious that those who run the city aren’t the ones doing live debates.

Now someone's taken out their main opposition, Lena’s mother can finally revive the family’s decaying criminal empire–  only this time with women at the helm. Unable to resist a chance at her rightful place on the throne, Lena dives in head-first but soon finds herself fighting to balance her new relationship with an increasingly violent path to glory.

Meanwhile, Max is on a precipice. The death of their mother and best friend so close together has put them under a spotlight and suddenly, everyone wants to know how they’re feeling. Instead of moving forward, they’re forced to walk in the shadows of the past, while assuring those closest to them that they’re not secretly falling apart. Desperate to reclaim the narrative, Max will go to great lengths to prove that not only are they ready to move on, but they’d die before they go back.
