no. but i answered privately because i do not want creepy people seeing that post and going to talk to a child. tumblr is not and never will be a safe space and this was not a teenager, but rather a kid who isn't out of grade school yet, probably. it's my duty as an adult to respect them and their privacy, and to protect them in the small ways i can to keep them from possible danger.

I don’t really wanna get involved in all the American political ~discourse~ but what I will say is that it’s NUTS to me that you all don’t have compulsory voting. Like. What. I just don’t think you can bang on about liking or not liking a candidate and their policies but not actually do something productive with that opinion. I don’t really regard myself as ~patriotic~ (tho I do love Australia for the most part despite some obvious glaring issues w the climate crisis and treatment of our indigenous population) but I feel grateful to be here, especially watching everything play out from the other side of the world.
