gumshoe: he would be FASCINATED, he's always believed in aliens, and unfortunately now he's going to be investigating everyone.

BUT. what about the moment they realize az is a man who can't die at all (you know in his darkest years after floette and the war he tried oh god why was he cursed to live with this guilt) and finn's a robot who can run out of power or become critically damaged or otherwise die if they're not careful.

az experiencing that horrible gut-wrenching loss for the third time now, thinking his love has suddenly died (they're able to essentially reboot finn's system and other than needing a small upgrade and the feeling of the flu for a few days, he's ultimately fine)

So it's just around the events of XY right, all those years ago, AZ is just starting to reenter society after this spunky young woman saved the world from almost having all life obliterated, and his dear partner Floette has returned. Floette grew quite a liking to the girl, obviously sensing something important within them. But before she and AZ can become close, the hero moves away without warning, basically disappearing.

It's like over a decade later, it's around the events of Z-A. Hero enters, not looking a day older, but with a different haircut and style, and distinctly more masculine. Floette of course recognizes him instantly, but AZ wonders how it could possibly be. He starts formulating ideas, a family member, just a coincidence, exposure to yveltal and the weapon, etc. It isn't until the hero trips up and shows off the wear and tear in his artificial skin, the obvious malfunctioning in their processes... On the roof one night, they reveal in a one-two punch that he was a robot invented some thirty years ago, and that when they first met, he was pretty smitten with AZ.

Slowburn lovey dovey when-will-they romance ensues. decades later these two act like an old married couple, but neither looks a day older. wsfjlhalsdkafjldfaj
