According to 1d4chan* that was the developer’s intention, but it’s never explicitly stated in-game. There’s some weird inconsistencies going on with his personal timeline as of 7th and 8th edition, but unless someone at GW explicitly states they’re different characters it’s safe to assume that they’re the same for now.
