( @nixalegos liked this post for a starter! )
Neutral cities often found members of opposing factions glaring at each other with barely contained contempt, as if their stares alone could stab the other through the heart. The air vibrated with tension and left a bad taste in the mercenary's mouth. Still, it was one of the few "above board" ways Gin could keep in touch with some of her contacts without the use of illusionary magic.
She'd only met this one the once, but it would seem that she'd left an impression on him. Enough that she had received what could only be described as a summons from him, which she had debated on simply ignoring. Curiosity had won out in the end, finding her leaning against a wall near an open-air market, the scent of spices and baked goods permeating the air.
"Ah go' th'impression from our las' meetin' y'didn' much like me." A grin spread across her face, rolling her head to look at the elf as he approached. "T'wot do ah owe th'onor?"
Yk i am kinda good at this Tumblr shit
Touring was exhausting. It was hard. It was hard when Richie was single and it was hard for him now, approaching the 6 month marker of his first ever relationship. His first, not because it was really his first, but first because it was the first that actually mattered and, hopefully, if he was careful with it, it would be his last.
So, touring. The jet lag, the sleep deprivation, the confusing showers, the unfamiliar beds...they sort of became background noise to the missing-Eddie’s-hands-beneath-the-covers. It was just. Hard.
It was almost as hard for Richie to ask, so early in their relationship—still learning, even, who Eddie was as a man—to fly him out overseas. To have him join him in his last few weeks out of the country. To have him use up his own vacation time to come see him. But something had to give in the end, and Eddie seemed to jump at the chance, like maybe he had missed Richie too. And wasn’t that a thought?

“I’ve run out of jokes, dude. They’ve wrung me dry.”
It was Eddie’s second week on tour, and he was pretty sure Richie had said this to him every night since he’d arrived, lying stiff still on his back across the mattress. Eddie found a space behind Richie’s head to sit cross legged and began to thread his fingers through Richie’s hair and push it back because he liked it, and Richie liked it, and he was still amazed that things like that could exist in a relationship.
“Richie,” he said softly, peering down at him even though Richie’s eyes were closed. “You tell the same jokes every night.”
“Do I?”
Richie smiled as Eddie’s hands moved down his neck to his chest and Eddie felt pleased there were moments that he could take care of Richie.
“And they’re only funny about the first three times.”
This was an atrocious lie, and if Richie glanced backstage during his shows even a fraction of the times Eddie thought he did, he knew that it was. Eddie still laughed embarrassingly hard even the fifth, sixth, and seventh times he watched Richie perform. And maybe Richie was actually that funny.
Or maybe Eddie was just in love.
“Are you going to keep insulting me all night, or are you going to come down here and kiss me?” Richie asked, cracking an eye open as Eddie bent low over Richie, his hands dipping further beneath Richie’s t-shirt as he did. “Because I swear to God, I can get into either one.”
“Shut up,” Eddie mumbled, but closed the distance between their faces, kissing Richie awkwardly and upside down. Richie reached out and held Eddie’s head in his hands and sighed into the kiss and Eddie wondered how he had gone so long without this—during the first few months of Richie’s tour and even in the years before he’d reunited with Richie in the first place. He didn’t have an answer, but he kissed Richie harder and quietly promised to do everything he could not to lose it.
Yes, hello, I’d like to register a complaint with your Emotions department. I’ve canceled my subscription and they just keep coming.
Why don't you just drop threads instead of promising to do drafts?
it’s been a long goddamn weekend kids
sixteen hours of traveling on Friday and then three twelve-fourteen hour days back to back and we are finally getting into Actual Public Interaction tomorrow morning
Not that I have to or even should explain myself about that Infinity Wars post, but the joke was that while yeah everyone’s gone through some shit since the last Avengers movie, Thor is the one whose shit you can physically see on his physical body. He lost his hammer, he lost his hair (two of his trademark features), and he lost an eye. It’s a moment that could either be portrayed humorously or emotionally because while the other team members are talking to each other about what’s gone down these past couple years and Thor comes up, he doesn’t even have to say anything for them to know that he’s been through stuff too. This wasn’t about comparing trauma or belittling characters in favor of others. It was a lighthearted joke about a character who is frequently left out of this particular conversation to begin with.
