I actually listen to Ghost (I know, it's technically the Devin Townsend Project but shut up) often when I do my morning yoga. 

Terria is my favorite basic Devin Townsend album.

<3 I think I just like the idea of his mother being the one to train him and the one he looked up to the most and the one he doesn't want to let down.  And, to be absolutely fair, I like to think of her as awesome in her own right, because Badass Lady Knights have always been a Thing of mine.  :3

I imagine early life in an institution of high asceticism probably started him on the path of "not quite hip in social settings", but I definitely suspect the isolation of the Underworld would have definitely taken a higher toll.  At least at the Temple, he'd have outsiders coming and going.  I doubt there was much pleasant socializing to be had among the recently departed and the Shadoles.  x_X

Sol certainly isn't one to complain about the troubled, the handsome, or the fabulous hair.  Especially the fabulous hair, he probably wakes up with it all done up in style.
