dorice works on the farm alongside isild! they've worked together ever since the farm was rebuilt after it was burned to the ground by dragonfire (so they've worked together maybe a year or so by the time isild joins the dawnguard). the two are both outrageously stubborn, known to bicker and butt heads while they work, but they're fond of each other all the same. they argue on everything from whether isild should join the dawnguard to what kind of animal ate their cabbages last night. dorice is older, gruffer and grumpier than isild. she lost her son long ago in a terrible accident and she never fully recovered emotionally, becoming bitter and closed off. dorice often worries about isild and her naivete (though she never admits to this directly)...she was very opposed to isild joining the dawnguard actually, insisting that she didn't know what she was getting into, and the two parted ways on rough terms. isild is younger and may be naive, but she's still a grown adult and knows how to look after herself. but dorice can't help but see some of her son in isild's stubborness and unwavering sense of justice, so she treats her a bit like a child that needs protecting, and this puts a strain on their relationship at times. i STILL haven't played through isild's dawnguard quest so i don't know how this adventure of hers resolves LOL. dorice has other hired help to assist running the farm in isild's absence, but i'm sure the two miss each other after the dust has settled...
