Thinking about the Solunian twins AU and the dynamics it might present.
The fact that it has a name does not bode well for me
Cherri and Owain: Both royals turned knights (because Owain was absolutely a prince back in Walesland). I think their dynamic depends on when the reveal happens. Owain would have a lot more respect for Cherri later in the series, once she is skilled in knighthood.
We have Cherri who struggles with living up to her father’s incredible rule, and Owain who hasn’t worked through his own problems with monarchy. They find common ground in the weight of the duties they carry to protect their kingdoms.
Most of their bonding time is spent sparring on the training grounds. Cherri is learning to be more proficient with a sword, and Owain has to try and tap into his fire magic.
Ren and Owain: After a happy reunion, there would be so many struggles. Owain already has a father that he loves, so Ren taking over that role, especially so late in Owain’s life, will not go smoothly. Ren gave a name to Owain long ago, but Owain would absolutely refuse to answer to anything else than the name Arthur gave him (Ren respects it, but does have to catch himself sometimes).
Ren is a lot more whimsical than Owain, which I think will ultimately be good for him. Ren’s general aura of encouragement and delight might actually make Owain relax and enjoy life.
Apo and Owain: They have so much beef. It would be so funny if Owain goes back to Soluna with them and Apo now has to deal with this stupid lion all the time. And of course she’s going to try her best, because it’s important to Cherri, but he’s making it difficult (she swears it’s on purpose! Maybe it is)
