Got kiddo down to bed pretty easily (though very late bc he does what he wants 🙄) and had the downstairs to myself for a bit. So I cross stitched for the first time in like 5 months and it was super nice. I’ve been working on this cross stitch for like almost 9 years and I’m finally on the backstitching. Which is the hardest/most tedious part but I’m so damn determined to finish it! Maybe it’ll go in baby’s room if I get it done before May. (I really want to have it done before May.) I get so little time to myself, I really have to remember to not let myself get stuck in one creative outlet for too long because I end up burnt out on it. I gotta switch it up and that may be part of why writing has been so difficult lately. I was so in it for a while. It’s what pulled me away from this cross stitch project again after I’d been on a roll with it early this year. I have a pretty obsessive personality and I tend to get stuck in one medium so long that it starts to not make sense anymore - like when you say a word too many times. Gotta mix it up to allow myself perspective and to rest the parts of my brain that have been working too hard for too long. So I’m going to try to work on this once a week and write a couple times a week (or as I have time.) See if breaking it up helps get that flow going again.
