why does it feel weird to use money you have to buy things you want

#not the most special things ever that you’ve been saving up for or waiting for but like #seeing a nice shirt and being able to afford it and buying it? it feels fake and like a fraud every time #t says #and I mean I don’t even have a job now I think that’s part of it but even when I had summer jobs #buying little things you want...feels wrong?#prooobably a side effect of growing up with a financially struggling single mom #and also my subconscious telling me to stop buying fun things like books and albums and buy shoes instead :|#I really have a problem when it comes to buying shoes it makes me so anxious and it’s not good #for the record I’ve bought two books recently and am trying to buy one album if my card will stop fighting me and oh #*pay

I don’t understand why stores don’t automatically add in the tax to items that are being sold as THE price of the item. Like instead of telling me it’s under a dollar, let me know I’m going to at least need 2 to play off this stuff.
