New head canon that Caine sprinkles things you like in adventures because you once told him you like something now he remembers and adds them to his adventures for you to see when you enter them.
Ex: you once told Caine you love sunflowers and now every adventure that has a field of flowers is always sunflowers. Or you once told Caine you love fireflies and now every adventure that takes place at night has fireflies somewhere in there.

I don't know were to post this but is my birthday and is pride month and I got the amazing gift of learning that two of my former teachers (middle school math teacher and high school biology teacher) finally got out of the closet.
I grew up in a small conservative small town and as a kid everyone knew they were gay. But being gay was something to be whispered about, unless you somehow became an urban legend in town. And so no one was open about it. A lot of people pretended to be okay but it was very clear the city was not safe.
And so I felt extremely trapped as a queer kid, specially a neurodivergent and trans kid, hell my aunt grew there and she is openly bissexual and she and her wife have been maried for almost 30 years and she visits family and likes visisting but she is very open about never wanting to live there again. But is 2026 and my brother told me that five or so years ago those two teachers came out of the closet (one even married a man) and they were fine.
And it feels huge for me. That someone that I deeply admired (the math teacher) finally feels safe to be out. That for all the city was and still is they were truly safe, that it got to the point they could be out without becoming urban legend or being mocked or questioned or pitied. They are gay and is alright.
And it made me tearfully happy. Is Pride Month and the right is on the rise and companies stopped supporting us. Is Pride Month and I still feel fear when I say people my name. Is Pride Month and two adults that were at some point authority figures in my life growing up finally felt safe to come out fiver years ago in my small conservative rural town and it was fine. Not everything is bad news and sometimes we need a bit of queer joy. Just some hope.

Now I fear that even if byler becomes canon I won't be satisfied purely because of how its being handled. ESPECIALLY from Mike's end. His entire character being sidelined until the end? What could possibly happen in the finale that will make up for 3 seasons of gatekeeping? I only hope that they will give us just _something_ about him, but truthfully it's looking bleak. Mike doesn't deserve his character arc to be butchered and put into the finale of season 5.
