A recommendation

So all y’all know that I am super ridiculously into food. Specifically in a quality way, there are many ways to ‘love food’ I suppose, but I am constantly chasing the best of all possible worlds.

Well one thing I’ve always meant to do is buy in-season fruits direct from the farm, because I love, for this example, oranges, but I feel like rarely are they as GOOD as I want them to be. Eating seasonally is the way to get the actual food you want. I did a ton of research before ordering, and found what I was fairly certain I wanted.

It’s a fairly bare bones site because they aren’t a fancy place. You get a box of oranges filled with packing peanuts but OH MY GOD are they the best fucking oranges I have ever had. Because they don’t go to the grocery stores they are picked at the moment of PERFECT ripeness, and they smell and taste absolutely amazing. We ordered a 20 pound box of the premium navel, and we’re almost through it. I’ve been cooking them into cakes, eating them as snacks, candying orange peel. I just reordered a 35 pound box of their “choice” navels, which are odd sized or have blemishes, which is a thing that I don’t really care about.

Anyway I had an amazing experience with them, and the citrus season is, I think, for the next few weeks? Please note they don’t ship immediately--they ship when your fruit is ready. I’m still waiting on the honeybell minneolas because the heat in California means they aren’t ripening as fast.
