For some reason though, the ending didn’t really feel like an ending. Like Akihito and Mirai do meet and even though that was tied up… something felt amiss? Reading the books would be a better alternative than just adding another season though.
Yeah, the ending does feel very open-ended.
A few questions were left unanswered, like where Izumi Nase went or what happened to Miroku and how Mirai appeared again, or what happens after the two meet again.
I, personally feel like it would be better if some questions were left unanswered for the readers because it's just better like that, the story is over, if everything was resolved the ending wouldn't be unique and it might just be bland?
Like, the whole point of stories/movies is for the audience to contemplate, review, take in and follow, hoping for more, it takes out all the fun if everything was finished and done with and also, it could also mean that the story between the two isn't over yet, even though the story which the reader is shown IS over.
