It's so fucking stupid that elves are vegetarians in media where they live in like. Old growth temperate broadleaf forests, where there's not actually as variety in edible plants as you'd think and no real non-meat sources of protein aside from nuts, which can be an unreliable source of food and not really enough to feed an entire population of elves.
And it's not like you ever see elves FARM. They always just magically have an abundance of food despite no actual explanations for it, and it's always shitty vegetarian stuff. Not that vegetarian food is bad, I used to be a vegetarian for. A long while. But the way media depicts vegetarian diets is bad, especially in these bullshit medieval Fantasy Europe™ stories where elves only seem to eat berries and miscellaneous leaves.
