It‘d be better to read Vice and Virtue first, not just because it‘s a really good book but because it explains a lot of what happened. I haven‘t read Piracy and Petticoats though, and maybe, because it focuses on another character it isn‘t that important to read Vice and Virtue

Damnit. I keep running into Petticoats and Piracy - there are copies at my library and my local bookshop - but Gentleman’s Guide remains elusive. 

I’ll get around to reading it......... eventually
