In total, the story is currently 22 chapters, and 85,809 words long

And oof I was not ready for the feels at the end.

Once it’s all been edited, I’ll start sharing it on here.

hi i hope you dont find this weird at all but thief of spades is honestly one of the only fics i care about right now and i check ao3 daily just to make sure i can read each chapter when it comes out bc i feel so /invested/ in it and in your work. each piece you do has the perfect length and just the right amount of description and author's voice showing through it's absolutely lovely

Do I even need to say what relationship this inspires? :D It’s not like I EVER have trouble writing Scott & Virgil brotp feels but sometimes it’s nice to take a step back, put on a few songs and savour how simply awesome they are :D

Were the dogs freaked out when they first learned that Gabe could turn into a wolf?

Not really. They know he's different from other humans, and can smell it on him, but one of the reasons they respond so instinctively to him is because of what he is.

They do find the actual transformation process disturbing though, so he tries not to shift in front of them if he can avoid it. You'll see how they react to it in a couple of chapters' time... *sits on hands to avoid giving spoilers*

Hi! I just read the new g&o update and it was wonderful! Thank you Ghosti! I wanted to ask about my theory, does Gabe insist on smelling Odessa so much because she’s his mate and she smells a special kind of way? And he knows that she’s going to have to leave soon so of course he wont try to tie her to him by telling her but still wants to indulge as much as he can?

I love this ask! You’re definitely on the right tracks with this, Anon. Werewolves in this story rely a lot on scent anyway, and his wolf is telling him she’s ‘right’. It’s very grounding for him, especially since he doesn’t have a pack of his own after leaving his family when he was relatively young. Having someone who feels safe, and with whom he can safely indulge his wolfy side a bit is a great comfort, however temporary it might be…

I love Odessa and Gabe so much! Chapter 8 was amazing, I was actually able to feel the emotions ypu were describing. Rhett will always be my favourite woofer but Gabe is a very close second. You should be very proud of yourself <3
