Not like I’ve been staring at the 1989 TV cover for 25hrs a day on end but it just clicked with me that in the old cover she has 5 seagulls on her shirt, resembling the 5 unreleased vault tracks like sentiments she must keep to herself. But now, the same 5 seagulls are soaring free. It really adds a whole new layer on top of her 2014 speech that 1989 covered up her face because she didn’t like her smile, and with it, anything remotely herself. Now she does. She really does.
