Her blood flows out too quickly for Mika to stifle it with what little supplies he has at hand. He tries to apply pressure but it’s no use. His hands are shaking, causing him to fumble and allow the warm, sticky liquid to slip between his fingers.
With a clearer mind he’d realise he’s fighting a losing battle. Instead he continues his fruitless efforts, though he could well be causing more pain than he’s preventing with the way he grips too tightly in an attempt to halt the bloodflow.
Then, she calls out to him and when he brings his eyes to hers, she’s terribly pale. He releases her with a curse and moves to cradle her instead, reassuring her despite the fear that grips him.
In the back of his mind he hears Krul’s words, ones that remind him he has the power to save his loved ones. He’s never wanted to be faced with a situation where he has to consider them though.
Leave her to die, or let her live as one of them.
Neither sounds like the right choice but the thought of losing her is unbearable. She can hate him later to her hearts content - just as long as she is alive.
He bites his lip hard enough to draw a considerable amount of blood before he brings their lips together and tempts her to swallow it.
