ショックだ。

F1を楽しめたのはこの人の解説があったからだ。80年代のセナとプロストの壮絶なバトルも、ひょうきんだったマンセルも、この人の優しい鋭い解説があっての楽しい時間だった。あれから随分経って、今宮さんは70歳だったのか〜。

ご冥福をお祈り申し上げます。もしかすると、僕のF1への興味もこれで薄れてしまうかもしれないな。

A suffix meets its destiny

I heard this on an episode of the podcast 99% Invisible today (http://99percentinvisible.org/episode/fountain-drinks/ ):

“The University of Central Florida in 2007 opened a brand-new football stadium. They had built this stadium with no public water fountains. And on opening day 45,000 people showed up […] It was an incredibly hot day […] And then the bottled water sold out. 18 people were taken to hospitals and 60 more were treated by local campus personnel for heat-related illnesses. The local press came up with a name for the scandal. You’ll never guess.“

This ending of every controversy name with the suffix -gate must stop. Please.

I feel like, just to be a total asshole, I should just start replying to things that people say, no matter the topic, by just taking a significant word from their post/statement and saying

'Hashtag [word]gate'
