i just remembered our (white) mother used to use our afro as an excuse to get us to go on rides and roller coasters we were too small for and were already too scared and didnt wanna go on, and got upset with us when we cried. maybe itd be less scary as an adult that actually is large enough for the rides now. idk if we could but i want to try it again someday on our own terms and see how it is.
