A Full Interview With Anarchy2021

          My interview with Anarchy2021 was a long process, but for all the best reasons. Daylight, one of the members put it this way: “There’s a lot of collective action, which means we can’t spring into motion the way other parties can. But that means that while other parties are disjointed and frantic, we are a united front and a solid party to follow.” I’m rather inclined to agree.

         On July 21st, the Journalist conducted an interview with the members of Anarchy2021. We recommend that you read their member introduction post here before continuing with this article, and that you also make sure to check their policies and writing on their official blog after you are done reading this article.

         Anarchy2021 is one of the first few parties to reach the 8 member limit, but instead of constantly talking over each other like many others in group interviews, they made sure to cross-check their answers to my questions until everyone in the party was on board, even despite time differences. Their discussion was in an open chat with me, and despite the times they disagreed, everything was resolved with civil discussion. Graphite mentioned that they had been working on their policies since 18 hours ago, and based on the timestamps of their posting, they must have worked at least 6 hours straight ratifying everything with each other.          This may seem like a long time, but keep in mind that these individuals come from all over Mcytblr. From Zablr to Hermitblr, CPK fans to DreamSmp fans, 3rd life watchers and avid small streamer promoters. At least two candidates admitted that they had argued before over c!Techno and c!Tommy discourse, but all I saw from any of them was peaceful cooperation and discussion so they could do what needed to be done.

         This reflects in their goals as a party as well. Anarchy2021 told me about their plans to help increase tag literacy on both Ao3 and tumblr, backing up their end goals with the time that the Mcyt fandom were able to remove a cc’s real name from their tag by simply refusing to use the tag long enough that it was causing wrangling issues. As █ told me, “These goals are real and achievable. They only require that we work together.”          Another of their goals, uplifting smaller parts of Mcytblr, is a goal quite a few parties share. However, this party seems much more prepared for the actual task. Not only were several members able to tell me the names of streamers that are actually below 1k on average, but they also are planning outreach so as to bring in the opinions of groups of fans they might not know about. I may be repeating myself, but Anarchy2021’s ability to recognize the need for differing knowledge and support systems, and their persistent drive to bring in the people that could help them set these things up, is one of the strongest parts of a party I’ve seen so far.

         Anarchy2021 doesn’t see winning as a limiter to do what they want to get done. They’re already publishing guides to help tag wranglers understand the needs of the Mcyt community on Ao3, while most other parties are still coming up with campaign promises.They’re incredibly well organized, already scheduling small cc appreciation days, writing music for their party, and planning outreach to Hermitblr’s catcatcher and new ccs on tumblr alike. Member Zaph noted that “Embracing different cultures is as important as it is useful,” and in this case, their words match their actions very well.

         The candidates of the Anarchy2021 party were very helpful and welcoming as I conducted my interview and got the information I needed. They’re not making empty promises- They’re already working hard to fulfil their campaign policies before the elections have even truly started. If you’re still unsure of who you want to support, I’d recommend checking them out.

I appreciate your extensive coverage of the current elections. However, it seems you may have some defective equipment. This is causing chunks of your transcripts to be lost. I suggest you rectify this situation at once.

After all, we wouldn't want anything to get lost.

That's true! We'll be sure to update our equipment in the future- I think it's mostly on Editor's side, so that shouldn't be hard.

However, it's still important to remember that if something is lost, it's gone. It's not been brought with us to the present, and there's really no use in looking back.

Journalist: Polling Data. Overall, there were 62 responses to the candidate’s google form! 36 parties were represented, and 4 responders were not actually candidates. We’ve got quite a wide variety of parties this election, and I know that the 36 that answered our questions certainly aren’t representative of every group running! Editor: Yes. Now, onto our first multiple choice question- It seems that only 19.4% of people involved in this year’s election were also involved in last (static) year’s elections. It’s great to see so many new faces- Journalist: I’m- Sorry. I can’t quite hear you? Editor: I’ll just move onto the next question then. Journalist: First, let me turn down your audio- there’s a sort of noise in the background, and it’s giving me a headache. (silence) Journalist: Alright, done. Editor: Okay. Well, 25% of a *certain subgroup* of candidates voted in the last election, while another 25% actually made fancontent and endorsed other parties! A full 41.7% were even candidates, and at least one respondee was a moderator. Journalist: Enough about *that,* though. *Currently*, in an interesting note, 24% of people don’t have official policies for their parties! Editor: Well, that’s a bit- Journalist: *Currently,* it does seem like our parties do have a few overlapping goals as well. Unity between all part of mcytblr is a big one, and so is better treatment of Ghostbur. Violent suppresion of bigotry is a great one, and it seems to be appearing frequently! A few people would like to make being gay mandatory, i see some people saying they want better appreciation of Tubbo Underscore, and… what’s this about tapeworms? Editor: Never mind that. Journalist: But what- Editor: It’s uh, well it’s in the past. Journalist: Oh. Of course. Editor: Uh, yes. Journalist: Don’t look back. Editor: ...Right. Journalist: Anyways, new news is good news, and we’ve got some right here! With the recent addition of more ccs to tumblr, almost half of the people running say that they’ll be a fun addition to the elections! A further 19.4% say that they wish to take advantage of this new development, and I can’t wait to see how that turns out! Editor: Yes. To our knowledge, at least 3 content creators are currently in the running, though I doubt one of them knows about it. Journalist: A few people seem to think that there might be 4. They do keep bringing up Ranboo! And also something about a Tube as well. Also, uh, hmm.. Editor: What is it? Journalist: It appears the godkillers have decided that some of these creators may be a worthy target. Editor: That can’t be good- Journalist: Everything will turn out fine, I’m sure! On to a more positive note: The opinions on other teams! Editor: You call that more positive? Journalist: Yes! After all, every response is talking about friendship and unity between parties, and with only a few mentions of the sheer *amount* of parties running. Editor: What exactly did you put for the multiple choice options? Journalism is about (static) free speech, Ides, you can’t just- Journalist: Maybe you should check your recording equipment- That sound is back, and it’s even more annoying this time. A Summary Of Several Parties

While polling efforts for the @mcytblr-elections-2021 have been going on, our Journalist has interviewed members of several parties, and this article hopes to summarize some of their outlooks and policies going forwards. We hear at The Newspaper would like to remind you to consider the up- and down-sides of each party, and not just take our word for it.

Kinnie2021, from Vice President @ohnostalgia​. Kinnie 2021 has 5 members, and the memorable slogan “Hand in unlovable hand”. This reflects on their goal to unite as much of mcytblr as possible- After all, in their words, "All of mcytblr is going down together, baby.” Both the President, Vin @enigmaticvariation, and the Vice President, engage with many sides of mcytblr and would like to see them come together. They’re especially dedicated to lifting up smaller sections of the community and giving them a voice too- If we’re all [LOST], better to make friends than to avoid them, right?

Sex20[LOST], from President Soup @quack-city. Sex20[LOST] is made up of 2 members, both President Soup and Vice-President Moss @mosstapes. Sex20[LOST] cares deeply about their citizens, and plan to be active in any problems that come up. They say that they’re planning to “Pop off big time,” with no socks required. President Soup also wanted to make sure to wish the other parties luck, despite their repeated comments that “Our party is superior, and we win these.”

Meow2021, from President Miso @mysso​. Meow2021 has an incredible list of policies listed on their official blog @meow2021, which is run by both President Miso and Vice President Kevin @cube-cumb3r, along with 3 other cabinet members. Meow2021 wishes to welcome whores, twitter users, and meow-meows to mcytblr, and the president themself will send homemade waffles to every supporter! Even endorsed by the ghost of JFK, is there anything this party can’t do?

Side coloumn: What do various parties think of the other candidates? Well, many of them had plenty to say. Here’s some anonymized quotes:

“[UNNAMED PARTY] are uh... well. While I do agree with a lot of their campaign promises, their tactics and attitude intimidate me a little.”

“QLSC2021 is really the party I'm worried about. They have a lot of really great policies, but hopefully since the party is made up of ranboo kinnies they'll just forget about it.”

“The people there are really cool, and the candidates are great. I've kissed a couple of our opponents.”

“I shan't slander them unless they have a chance to stand up for themselves. Gentleman's rules, you know.”

“I look forward to perhaps working with other parties.”
