Being a TECHNICALLY a doctor who fictive is so funny. It’s like ok yea I fucking guess I am, but not a single sourcemate would even know who I was. All this has done for me has given me hyperspecific source trauma and a deep seated obsession with the 10th doctor.

For a while now at her request we have been referring to my granddaughter as they/them. The other night she told us that she’s pan-sexual.

What about you Bachan, she asked me. I’m heterosexual I told her. She smiled and then asked, what’s that? My daughter and I looked at each other not believing she didn’t know, but my kid told her and then she exclaimed, Oh! You mean Bachan is straight!

While I’ve been Away

The kid finally got me to watch a season of AHS. It was Coven. It was pretty good, but that’s about the extent of my AHS experience. She knows I am drawn to matters having to do with witches. She told me that some of the characters from the Coven showed up in the current season. So I’m tuned in, but only for the episodes having the characters of Coven.

We saw The House with a Clock in Its Wall. It was okay. It could have been better. Jack could have been funnier. The charisma between Jack and Cate was pretty good.

Had my car washed this past weekend and I was wondering why the price ended up being $2 less than it should.

Well.

Today I was cleaning out my purse and came across the receipt. It appears that I was given a senior citizen discount which is great, but hey y’all my vanity took a hit. I’m stuck between feeling amused and what-the!! :D

Work is work. Some days are eh and other days are whatever. I have this like/hate relationship with my job. I don’t think I’ll ever love my job, but I’m at a place where I take most things in stride and accept the shit show for what it is...

The kid is still struggling with finding a job and although she knows that she’ll eventually get one, it doesn’t make her feel better :-/

Good news! October makes everything better, yeah?

September 1st!!!

It’s not officially autumn, but I’m already starting to feel its vibe.

Comfort food be like seaweed soup, ramen, and baked chicken with veggies.

Reading and falling asleep outside on the porch.

Hot tea and nibbling on ginger crystals.

Waking up to the sound of wind chimes every day.

First day on the job

It went quite well. People were friendly and helpful. I’ve already got 2 projects and I have 2 employees that I’m managing, which I had forgotten was part of the job description when I applied. I’m not complaining one bit - it’s another challenge, especially since I’ve never actually had to manage others before. It’s the entire enchilada so to speak; I’ll be writing and delivering their annual reviews.

There is a dress code in place, which is another first for me - dressing casual is my thing.

We’re not allowed to wear jeans 😭

Okayyyyy enough whining. Time for bed.
