Love to see you improving in your art. Just a small observation, you often make Jyns head much smaller than cassians, even when they’re supposed to be next to each other. I’m sure you’d notice it eventually, but it helps sometimes when someone points out a pattern, helps to save time on the improvement journey.
Thank you so much for your kind words, but.....
a... anon that's how proportion works.... I get it. We all want Jyn to take up as much space as Cassian because we feel like she should have as much value, and we're all feminists here, but the woman is tiny in comparison to him. I have to fight to get the right size contrast, and I\ve spent a lot of time this month doing studies just to get it right (because I was drawing him too small last month).
Like... okay. Here's what I mean:
This is a pretty shite example because as you can see, he's standing further from the camera than Jyn and by the look of the angle of his brow his head is tilted. The closer you are to the camera the bigger you seem. And tilt creates foreshortening, which means that it's actually even bigger than it seems.
But either way you can see that his head is much bigger than hers
Similarly brow with across the widest part of the cranium is different (and this is including the hairline so not entirely precise either).
Either way the difference in proportion is on purpose and based on reference. Idk if your intent here is based on an assumption that I don't know anatomy or that I'm not feminist enough in my representation...... and I'm sure you were well-intentioned, anon, but please remember that random, un-asked-for "constructive" criticism is generally going to be unwelcome or put the receiver in an awkward position.
Thank you for your time!
