Dear Ask a Manager,

I work at a small business where I'm second-in-command to the owner. I wanted to come work for him because he's incredibly gifted in our field. He's always been eccentric, but lately his behavior has started to get stranger and stranger.

We recently acquired a competitor and merged their office and staff with ours. In my opinion, pretty much all of the staff are incompetent and useless, and I've told my boss I think we should fire them all. By far the worst, though, is the owner of the other business. He's from a very privileged background and basically bought his way into his current position, and his company has never made a profit (hence why we were able to acquire it). My boss initially told me that his plan was to keep the old owner on staff for a few weeks to ease the transition, and then fire him once things were settled.

But it's been weeks since the acquisition, and I don't think my boss has any intention of firing the other owner. Instead, he's given him more and more input into the way we run our business, and I've been shut out of strategy discussions that I used to be a major part of. I'm growing increasingly frustrated with the situation, and part of me wants to jump ship and look for a new position. But I also still have great admiration for my boss, and I'm genuinely worried about the direction he and the business will go in without me on board.

I want to go to my boss and tell him that either the other owner leaves or I do. I'd be pretty confident he'd pick me, because I've been a good employee for years, but the way he's been acting lately I can't be sure. Is that a good idea? Or is there some other way I can convince him to let this guy go?

i can't stress this enough , i'm here to write . i don't do callout posts myself but i do , however , support authors having a right to boundaries and creative freedom . so if a post shows ample evidence that a mun they made a post about is giving bad juju ? i will share the post(s) to warn others and that troubling blog will be blocked and most likely reported to help the cause . if you're not here to be a sweet mun and just vibe like the rest of us ? don't bother me . aside from that , all is fun and no war . anyone who tries to start anything , or if i don't care for what type of content you post , i will simply block you . and of course , the golden rule :

i can write some very horrific and malicious characters at times and i've noticed very weird and off putting behavior from previous writers on here who had muses engage with said muses ( whether ocs or canons ) . no matter the muse , it doesn't reflect me , the mun and i will not glorify nor romanticize bad/evil characters . just like movies , books , and shows , i watch and listen to understand the story .

smut is no issue with me at alllll , but it does depend on where the muse is at with yours and if this mun has the creative flair to make it happen . don't force dynamics that aren't there and spice away lmfaoooo ~~~~ speaking of smut , i bring threads to @er0ticu and once the threads move from smut to a different part of the story , it'll go back to @ner0tic . any threads/asks that are nsfw based will remain 100% on @er0ticu ! i will block any writer who tries romanticizing any bad/evil characters by ignoring the bad/evil things to fulfill their own personal smut fantasies and/or denying the truth to a dynamic to fulfill their own personal smut fantasies between characters . i will also block anyone who tries to write smut and only smut with any of the characters yet write nothing else with the characters' dynamics .

(Scrapped Tweet Thread)

Warning: Rather outdated joke below, keep in mind this was written almost a year ago. Also this is meant for my "Adult/GO" setting too.

In the Inazuma Eleven world, its McDonalds equivalent (And specially in Oz) is called something like... Mackie's. Bruce works there as a part time job outside the warmer seasons, since unfortunately being a lifeguard isn't forever.

Originally he chose MCK's since his favorite food are its cheeseburgers, but the job eventually made him DESPISE them. He's now more in team 'Cheese Queen', and he'd rather go eat there in his free time.

At least his job isn't that bad, as Quincy gets to visit him whenever he's free from Geology studies. Sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. And overall, Bruce doesn't enjoy being seen this way by others, so he can't help but feel embarassed with him around.

Complementary dialogue:

Quincy: [At the counter] I want to speak with your manager! NOW!!! Bruce: ...Cy, for the last time. My manager WON'T raise my pay if you insist him enough. He's an idiot, he won't listen to you. Quincy: But come on, mate! You work so hard here and you get just THAT!? You deserve so much more! Bruce: ... (...He's right, but I cannot speak it out.)
