How likely toufuu ikokukan members to play in FFI team?
Alright! To make this brief....
I'll start by saying that my judgement criteria is based off speculating their nationalities AND using their profiles. We can also use an hypotetical scenario in which the VR FFI does happen and the countries form their selections, considering to call anyone that has played at Toufuu Ikokukan given their reputation.
THOUGH, we should also remember that while Toufuu is a strong team regionally, it wasn't able to reach the finals due to its defeat by Nagumohara, so it's NOT a good national team. This may affect even further how each country's scout sees the players here, alongside the events that happen in said match.
So, without any other ado, here's my predictions...
Martino: 100%. This guy HAS to play internationally, everything about this guy screams "I WILL destroy Endou Haru" which can now be rewritten as "I WILL destroy Endou Haru AND Unmei too" after the defeat at the Football Frontier. As for his selection, he'll most likely go to Italy (Because the name sounds italian and bc L5 LOOOOOVES Italy) trained by old Fideo or whatever. There's a part of me that really wants him to be argentinian instead (Dibu Martinez....) but I don't think it will happen. Honestly this is such a gold chance for a storyline that if Hino forgets it, I stg............
Jenny: She's from an english speaking country, and the "proximity to the sea" gives me Australia vibes. You cannot make an asian qualifier without Australia, so she could maybe be called to play (And I hope so bc we need more australian girls, Shining Satans fumbled on that). Alternative, her voiceline for Niagara Falls could hint that she's American/Canadian, just from a state/city nearby the sea. The posibiities are endless on this one.
Speaking of America, I can easily see John being called to play there, since the mention of Jazz might imply he's african american. Or maybe Olson.
Zhoumei: Two justifications: 1st, it's most likely that Zhou is Chinese, and knowing how well received the previous chinese selection was at Orion maybe L5 will reuse the country again. 2nd reason is so he is finally away from Squat/Sikuvot LMAO. Similar reasoning with China goes with Mongmong (Dobut it bc she's a bencher).
Maribelle: My best guesses for her nationality wise are: France, any french-speaking african country... Maybe Cotarl again? I genuinely have not found any close match for "Flanmir" or "Franmil", tho her dub name Maribelle is a french name. That being said, if it is France or Cotarl, it'd be interesting if she was called to play. (She gives me female Rococo vibes, I think there's potential for her). In a recent development she got added to the Ocean Friends team, so that narrows down her country to a coastal one.
Roberto: There's something about him that screams to be "BRAZIL" or any other latinamerican country due to his name. Either way and if that's the case, he's going in 100%.
Would stay over at Japan:
Kaios: This is more because of a "playstyle" issue than nationality. His profile mentions Muay Thai, a tailandese martial art, so there's a possibility of Thailand returning and calling him to play. But the problem is that according to his profile, his saves are so bad he straight up destroys the ball. Unless he's not fixing that, he's probably not playing for an international tournament.
Edmond: Out of all my guesses, this is the one I'm the strongest with. Seriously, he's having the time of his life on the country he admires, why tf would he even leave now??? (Also wait a second, PIERCE???????)
Cain: Yeah, sorry, regardless of his nationality he's not getting scouted for shit. What kind of player skips a whole first time??? It won't work out ANYWHERE, specially on a high stakes tournament!
Anita: Already answered it previously, but tl;dr she's attached to Toufuu team and wants to support those who are staying at Japan.
Squat: Listen... I have absolutely no idea about what this kid's nationality even is. The parkour in his profiles hints that he could be french -since it's from there-, but the name doesn't convince me at all. In fact, the "Swan" gives me the vibes of an european country (?). And let's not even talk about his dub name Sikuvot because I have absolutely NO idea what is that meant to be. Closest guess I have so far is that he's British imo and he could be maybe called to play, although it depends.
Judie: Again, this also due to nationality. My best guess is that she's african american, so she could play for the USA. Alternatively (and more self indulgent), is that I'd like to see her play for South Africa. She has a voiceline for Deep Diver and she got also added to Ocean Friends, so she's 100% from a coastal country.
Kiki: This one's an interesting case, because his dub name "Maharaja", refers to a prince in Indian language. So we do have a potential player for an indian selection!? ...Once again, I really doubut it. His profile is also hard to deduce, and I wouldn't be surprised if L5 put it because of misconceptions and stereotypes about certain regions :/
Kai: Yoshizaki was a character that was VERY hyped since Toufuu was first revealed, and the fact that his actual nationality is ambigious (As Touyou is the only ""japanese"" on the team according to the game) makes it a mystery where he could be called to play. Keep in mind the japanese diaspora is huge... Yet at the same time, if he was only an "one time rival" I wouldn't be too much surprised. I can picture him being on a "Neo Japan" type team instead 👀
