I wouldn't say TBHX is a criticism of community values since relationships and friendships are such a powerful force for good in the world of TBHX. It's more that it's critiquing the parasitic and transactional relationship between strangers and the subject of their attention under the guise of community. The heroes aren't meeting the needs of the community, but obeying its whims. People's entire lives can be dictated by their reputation on FOMO which, as we have established, is easily manipulated by powerful stakeholders. If the community can take away people's very voices for the sake of entertainment, how can that community be meeting the needs of all its members? The heroes are a part of the community, too.

a knight who adjusts for the times. death is an easy promise when it'll never be tested. a knight that washes the dishes to help another out? a knight that brings soup to the sick? a knight who cleans up after a depressed lover? a knight who does the hard things purely for the benefit of another? that's the real stuff. out with the promises of dying on the sword and in with the promises based on actual events you will have the chance to make an impact on.
