The sun had yet to rise, but Sango tiredly sat up on her bed, stretching silently as a yawn escaped her lungs. The redhead swung her legs over the side and blinked a few times trying to let her eye adjust. She glanced over to the individual in the other bed. She’d been paired with Sorrel… At least he seemed to sleep in a bit later than she did. That meant she’d probably have time to go through her morning routine without having to worry about him.
The deckhand grabbed the case containing her sea-shell shaped eyepatch off her nightstand, grabbed a change of clothes, and headed into the bathroom as quietly as she could manage. After taking a quick shower, applying her eye-drops, and getting dressed, she was ready to tackle the world. Without making so much as a peep, she grabbed her ElectroID off the nightstand, and slipped out the door. Sunrise would be in about 30 minutes… She figured it was a long shot that the snack shack would be open this early, but she needed to stretch her legs anyway… Besides it’s not like she needed someone there to get something out of the fridge for her. So long as it wasn’t locked, she could get her own breakfast.
She was pleasantly surprised that there was a rather tired looking man standing at the counter. After a brief discussion, during which it became apparent that the man wasn’t a morning person, Sango was handed an orange, and a yogurt cup with some granola on top. Not exactly what she would have preferred, but she supposed not too many people were set on eating Malt-O-Meal every morning.
With that she moved over to lean against one of the guard rails. Too bad the fencing ruined the view… not that she could see much without sunlight. Still, the smell of salt water in the air brought a warm smile to her face. The girl took a deep breath in, and leaned her back against the railing as she got to work peeling her orange.
The sound of approaching footsteps took her eye off the task at hand. The stranger was so tiny! “Hey!” Sango inclined her chin about a quarter of an inch in greeting. “It’s good to see another early-riser. If you don’t beat the sun up, you’re doing something wrong.” She gave a light laugh. “Or are you still up?”
