i never noticed before that when mary notices a flickering light in the upstairs hallway, it's above a wedding photo. the photo is black and white and it isn't mary and john. presumably someone's parents? it would be amazing if it was samuel and deanna. the light a warning from them and a reminder of what they taught mary.

thinking about dean and sam jumping off the bridge and how it symbolizes embracing hunting but the idea is so clear in my mind that i think it must have come from someone else's post
SAM But we still haven't found the damn thing. So we kill everything we can find. DEAN We save a lot of people doing it, too.
i can't believe i forgot this but dean points out that they're saving people, even before the saving people hunting things line! sam sees it as killing, dean sees it as saving!
the first victim's name is troy, the woman in white can never go home...i'll admit it's a stretch but i'm thinking about the odyssey. i'm thinking about sam and dean trying to get home while god keeps putting up obstacles to keep them from ever getting there
"i can never go home" haunts me. yes, sam and dean learn they can't go home, home doesn't exist anymore, but that doesn't mean they will never find a home. they find new homes and they create them and they learn to live with a home. but it should have ended with them finally getting a home, a real permanent one that was aligned with the lives they wanted and full of the people they loved. dean should have gotten to go home to cas. instead they sent him to heaven, to a "home" in name only that didn't fit him.
SAM Uh, the phone? DEAN If I'd'a called, would you have picked up?
this right here is why it's so important to me that cas learns to pick up the damn phone because dean has spent most of his life chasing people around trying to build a connection
