Please forgive me.
You come into your room late and panting. Your heart even beat faster seeing him sitting behind your usual assigned unassigned seat. And you know he does not usually sit there. You pass by him to your chair pretending that your short breaths came from climbing up five flights of stairs. You knew it was not the case. It took longer for your heart to calm. Five minutes. But it felt forever. When it did calm, you turned around to face him and said hi. It was your first conversation with him since the reporting pairs got changed. Dang the change. He had the same bad boy aura. Even when sitting down, his 6-feet was still evident. When you saw him days before wearing a cap, you assumed he got his hair cut. And you were right. You missed that cute gap between his two front teeth. It was supposed to turn you off but nah. It endeared you. The mole. You cannot miss THE mole. Even before you had feelings for him, you knew it was a killer mole. The black, flat circle earring he wears on his left ear. You blame that earring for thinking of him everytime someone wears that same cursed earring. With all those bad boy features, his eyes were kind and his lips were dry and chapped. You regretted not asking him if he’s okay. But what you missed the most were his jokes. Those damn, dull jokes. You tried not to laugh but hell. They were too corny not to laugh at. He even fooled you that your professor already took the attendance and that you were marked absent. You told him you made it in the fifteen minutes mark. But no. He said you arrived 6:16. You just shrugged because for the first time, you didn’t care. He was behind you and you’re talking to him. That’s all that mattered. It was before class dismissal when you realized. Instead of killing him in his mind for fooling you, you know you did something different. Just when you had him behind your back, literally behind your back, he got grouped into group 1 and you in 3 for the minigame. He had to move to the other side of the room to be with his group. Really. You knew Fate was playing a joke on you. But you just accepted it. There is only so much it could give you. Those little moments you had talking with him, you treasured it even more. That’s the best thing with only having little. You pull it closer to your heart and cherish it. You didn’t know when the next will be or if ever there’ll be a next moment. But you will always have that little moment. That little, beautiful moment.
