I think I’m likely gonna break for tonight. we are legit having arguments about the wisdom of getting into certain things even peripherally at This Time and having this ‘well holy shit’ kinda moment bc yeah, sometimes even we get overwhelmed by the level of shit we have been through.
we totally get why it stretched the bounds of the credible. and honestly... how the hell do you prove some of this shit? there is just... no way to. so... yeah I think I’m gonna take a break. regroup.
Up until about 2013, the Realms was the system that handled fronting the most. It was the collective that was the most well known because it was the first we learned about and explored. It the clearest we can visualize of our internal world. Groups from that collective had the most interaction with outside people and therapy and all that.
The Realms is broken down into five regions, though the largest concentration of people live in the Settlement, which was once the Labyrinth. The Front Room Complex is the only remnants of the Labyrinth left from it’s destruction (it was a very bad time for us, the emotional storms were horrid) and we don’t truly count it a part of the Realms anymore. It seems to touch all collectives. The Kids’ Castle is also in the Settlement. The vast majority of the Realms kids spend their time either there or hanging out in rooms in the Front Room Complex. Most of the time, if someone encounters kids from our system, they’re likely from the Realms.
There are only two other populated regions of the Realms. The Mountain Caves and Equine Valley (nope, don’t have a clue who named them). Those who exist in the Mountain Caves are... damaged, handicapped or disabled in some way that makes interacting with the outside world something to be done only with supervision. For example, Challeigh. Sweetest thing ever. Permanently hallucinates. She cannot tell reality apart from her hallucinations and they are... disturbing to those of us who end up sharing them when she’s close. It doesn’t distress her because she doesn’t know any other way to exist.
Equine Valley is home to the Circle, which includes most, though not all, of our resident pagans who don’t associate themselves with the Shadowlands. (and yes the Shadowlands mostly do not appreciate being referred to as pagans.)
They’re the collective we know the best, even if they are no longer the primary fronters.
i am on a mission today. we have brain functionality and motivation. so i’mma keep posting as long as I can sustain it. bc i know it might be tomorrow or it might be days or even weeks before I can do any of this again.
i’ll tell you what, tho. summing shit up is hard af.
