Of all the advancements in capitalism that I am looking forward to and will be happy about, will be when they figure out how to prevent targeted advertising from showing you places, situations, or what have you that you already have done or paid for or experienced without any advertising. Especially when that place, situation or what have you is a one-time only event that has been and done, and you will never need of it again. And when they shove something down your throat it is purely a new idea.
Something that I discussed in a different app with someone that came and went long before I ever mentioned it even around my phone, a very specific local thing that has a oddly specific national connection is now being advertised on Tumblr to me, and it's something that's not going to ever happen again.
Like getting advertisements for thylacine poopy diapers 3 weeks after your thylacine, the last one on earth, died.
"don't miss out on this fantastic sale! Your thylacine's dirty bum will thank you!"
It was funny and creepy and terrifying when I randomly discussed Edison bulbs with a friend and my various apps would show me specific area related locations and products, but come on, AI.
I'm sad
I love listening to my dad and his sister talk because sometimes they'll just switch to German for a bit and then start giggling to themselves then switch back to english
as a kid I never recognized it as special to come from a multilingual//multicultural family but now I do more and it's really nice
is Ohio even real
I am perfectly numb
Can this be a sign for what’s to come?
Mag-asikaso tayo, Lucas!
