Hiiiiii!!!!

So, I have to leave && be a Spanish teacher for an hour. Awesome. But all day, I’ve been playing this song on repeat. I was looking through my music library for a spring song && I figured I’d try something from Beck. I love my fellow Californian. This song is soooooooo beautiful. It is also the last track of his “Morning Phase” album, which is nothing short of perfect. It is quite rewarding to watch him grow in his work. Long gone are the “Loser” days. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great 90s tune, but this stuff is fkn brilliant. 

The one thing I love about Beck is the fact that his lyrics may feel so simple at first glance but the more you read them, the more convoluted they are. He is a very smart individual && I wouldn’t be surprised if his lyrics are a long ass metaphor or allusion to some interesting school of thought. The morning for Beck is the moment where you take action after the events of the previous night that appear to have left an impression. I’ll let you listen to it && make your own theories. 

Fun Fact: Beck has turned down “Mad Men” many times for music composition.
