Been loving your great sleuthing skills and reading your theories. :) So, I've been wondering this for some time, was it ever explained or implied why or how the Baudelaires got separated from Beatrice Jr? Is it possible that Beatrice got kidnapped by the VFD after Chapter 14/during The Beatrice Letters?

Your theory has a lot of merits. Beatrice Jr mentions having a V.F.D. instructor and also attends a school where Lemony went during his apprenticeshi years. She’s obviously being trained for future volunteering.

Her being kidnapped would explain a lot of things, but we also have to take into account the fact that her three guardians are still wanted criminals. They could have given her to V.F.D. because they were on the run and couldn’t look after her, or because they were arrested by the authorities.
