Hello! I just read your theory about Lemony's memories of his parents, and I was wondering about how this would translate to other characters in the series. Why would Olaf have a close (or any) relationship with his parents since he was also in VFD as an apprentice? Is it possible that the people who were assassinated by the Baudelaire parents were actually imposters (such as you suggested VFD used on Lemony)? It doesn't make sense that Olaf's parents would still be alive when he's an adult.
Hi, @wordsandroses! I take it you’re refering to this theory: (Link).
Honestly we know so little about Olaf’s parents and the logic behind their murder that anything’s possible. The fact that Gifford and Ghede thought they could impersonate Lemony’s parents in “All The Wrong Questions” suggests that he barely met them during his childhood, and his letter to Patton in the un-Authorized Autobiography strongly confirms this is true.
I’ve thoerized about the rationale behind the assassination in this theory: (Link). It’s shaky but I don’t really see why Olaf would be so angry at Bertrand and Beatrice killing imposters.
