I made it through finals week and I did surprisingly well on my exams. I got an A on my ANP test and an A- on my chem one. I am thoroughly relieved to be done with school for a while. 

I went out and got some jeans for work, along with some steel toed boots. They are ugly as fuck, but at least my toes will remain intact. $130 for those things. Just crazy. Hopefully they'll last me a long time. I had to get them in a size 10 because I have the feet of a sasquatch. I'm excited to start but I also miss my man. I know I'm not going to see him for a bit...We might go see another movie soon. Which would be fun. I really just want him to ask me out though. 

That's all for now. Sorry this is such a short update. Not much to say.

THE KIDDIE and V[NEU] at Shibuya AX on March 5th. 2014

This is mostly just to acknowledge that, yes, they were there, but no, I really didn’t go for them. I really don’t care much for Oshare Kei.

I am not even going to say anything about v[NEU] cause either you don’t care anyway or you will be highly offended and/or sad to read my comments on them. I have seen them three times at events like these and I am wholly unimpressed and slightly exasperated. So no, no comments there. Moving on to the others instead.

Sadie at Shibuya Ax on March 5th. 2014

So, dropping a few notes on the 2nd band to play that night. Not much to say about these boys, though in this case not because they didn’t give a great show. I don’t listen to Sadie at all, but I have seen them twice now, last time for a full concert, and I honestly thought they were great both times. At least they give you a good reason to scream and headbang and love the good end of v-kei for the entirety of the time they’re on stage, and that’s good enough for me. 

As always I was located at the left side, as I am a bassists’ girl at heart, but I doubt I would have torn my eyes off Mizuki and Aki anyway. I used to dislike Mizuki, but I have come to love him as an entertainer, because he really is. He’s overall idiotic, but completely adorkable, and still a good guitarist, so what’s not to like? The fact that he is the biggest stage whore I have ever seen, and that without competition, just adds to the entertainment in his special case.

Aki… looked less depressed this time around. Last time I saw them, which was at the Red Line Tour Final in Osaka in 2012, he mostly looked like his entire family had died and Tokyo had been bombed simultaneously, and no one cared at all. Sort of giving an odd impression of being the bassist version of emo Ruka, unable to hide behind his drums and run away when no one was looking. This time he seemed rather happy, much more out and about and of course catching my attention in his fetish outfit, hitting his bass and strumming the strings like he fucking meant it.

As for the others…. Sorry. I just didn’t look. Not more than a glance to confirm that yep, Mao’s still kind of… unattractive though oddly charming and Tsurugi’s still pretty in that all too typical v-kei way. I probably still won’t go home and listen to their music, but I’d never say no to a concert with them either, so that’s something, eh?
