Ok. 48 hours ago I was at The Maine's concert, and I think now that the euphoria has dimmed I can objectively talk about it. First of all, they are the cutest people ever! I - along with 399 other people - met them, and they were all really nice and thanked us all for being there. It was really quick and I only had time to hug all of them and take a group photo with other fans, but I get that it was a lot people and they didn't have that much time to get personal with everyone. The Technicolors are amazing! I'd never listened to their songs before, but I really liked it. And Brennan (I guess that's his name, sorry if I'm wrong) played the Brazilian national anthem and it was awesome. The Maine, as usual, were amazing and played every song that I love. But what I really want to talk about are the things that John said to us between 'Jenny' and 'Into Your Arms'. I know he was in a bad place not so long ago, and I guess that's why what he said became much more powerful. He said that, no matter what state of mind we are in right now, everything is gonna be more than fucking alright. And I guess I really needed to hear something like this from someone who I know has struggled in the past, because I cried so hard at this point (also because he played into your arms acoustically right after, and I have so many feels for this song). I guess sometimes we don't even realise how much we need other people there saying encouraging things to us, even if we don't feel particularly overwhelmed. Among other things, he also said that The Maine has this amazing connection with the fans because they know they are no different from us, and they really do treat us as their equals, not as some disposable things they can stomp over and charge $100 for a photo. I guess what I'm trying to say is: it was absolutely amazing and worth the money and time I spent to be there. Definitely will be going again (even if it means 16 more hours on a bus). So, thank you John, Garrett, Jared, Pat and Kenny for being the amazing pumpkins you are, and for this awesome Brazilian Candy (but maybe next time come back to Belo Horizonte). I will never forget this august 1st.
