Louis in Dallas - 1.31.22
SIDEWALK
[TEXT ID: i’m staring at a crack in the sidewalk / i've paused in the middle of the walkway / if it were warmer, weeds would push their way / through the gaps and burst into the light / taking advantage of the way ice and sun / have split the stone. i'm thinking about the children's rhyme / step on a crack, break your mother's back / when i was very small and my mother would make me mad, / i'd sing that to myself over and over and stomp on every split in the sidewalk. there's a kind of violence in youth that we forget as we grow old. / it slips in next to ignorance as we test the bounds of what's acceptable. / children kick and children bite and children step on sidewalk cracks / when their mothers make them mad. / it's forgivable though, we're only children. / we're still learning to be kind. there's ice bridging over this crack. / it spills out into the grass, smooth and clear / it's going to melt soon. / for one single moment as i stand and stare at this fissure, / dead and cold and slowly spreading wider, / and the child in me sings, angry and hurt. i take a step / i'm still learning to be kind.]
I only saw Ollie once … in the video the night before Dallas…he came behind Louis and Charlie as they were approaching fans and when Ollie saw the fans, he went into the venue rather than following Louis…I have not seen him since…in any pics or videos…
You too have an eagle eye! With his hoodie up and mask on, I missed him in this video.
