Chocolate Coffee
Location: This cafe I had an interview with, starts with an ‘A’, somewhere in, I think, Shang Wan.
Price: Free (for me)
For a summer job, I went to interview at a cafe to be a waiter, and for 3 hours I got to try waiting for them. Unfortunately, I wasn’t naturally ‘welcoming like I was greeting family when they come back home after a long day at work’ enough, but I did pick up one (1!) thing at my first attempt at waiting tables, and that is the little wrist flick you do while you lift a jug of water up from pouring, to stop any drops from splashing. So, not for nothing! And they gave me a free meal + the manager was super friendly, offering to make me any drink I want.
I asked for the sweetest, milkiest, un-coffee-est (???) chocolatey coffee they had and he made it on the spot. The chocolate on top melted into the drink and I can't begin to tell you how good this was. It was exactly what I wanted with the perfect balance between coffee bitter and chocolate sweet. So, no job, but good hot choco. I’ll take it. No naming names, keeping the place anonymous (2020 me: to be real with you, I don’t remember the name anymore, think it starts with A, who knows).
