Q: That's great when you got a guy like Macklin Celebrini on your team who's kind of running the ship, but I heard before you sign, he's been kind of bugging you the last few weeks and being like, "Are you gonna sign, when are you gonna sign?" So how was that having a kid of his caliber and put a young kid kind of give so much respect to you?
Wenny: No, I mean, even from last year, too, I mean, obviously meeting Mac from the first time, but not only [I think] he's one of the best players. I mean, his talent is unbelievable, how mature it is—but like, just outside of hockey, too. The friendship we have... I mean, it's funny, it's kind of, like, this year... he and me (?) got together closer, just 'cause my car was in the dealership getting work done, so I have to drive with him. So the young guy was driving me around, he just, uh, felt like he got even closer. So, I mean, I really appreciate the relationship me and him have, and it just, I couldn't be happy to be here and have him as the first C (1C), and just see how he's growing, but, like I said, it feels like he loves having me around as well.
So, it's awesome, man. I mean, that's just the team in general. It feels like everyone here has been so happy. If someone that has success, like, there's no, like, everyone is just rooting for one another.
I feel like that's something that I really appreciate about all the teammates here and like everyone is wishing everyone well.
