Sticker Sunday: "10 Black Dots...Okay... Maybe Just 4"

So it is not Sunday.  And I am merging a Book Club review with a Sticker Sunday.  Why not go a little off plan, right? :)  

10 Black Dots is a book by Donald Crews that is rather lacking in the visual appeal aspect but very strong in its inspirational value.  The graphics look dated and a bit too much like it was done via the Paint app that come standard on most computers. 

This book has been used in many a classrooms and help with teaching counting and also with thinking creatively and harnessing one's imagination.  

The idea is simple.  Using 10 black dots, what can you create, starting with 1, then 2, onto 3, and so on?  The author gives some examples with simple text to go along with it.  

Kids would love to do this and share with others to see how creative everyone else is too!  They learn about accepting others' opinions and perspectives and realize their own view is not the only one out there that is valuable.

I did my own version of "Becaroni's 10 Black Dots"... no I lied... "Becaroni's 4 Black Dots" because well I got pressed for time and 4 black dots are also just as nice! :)  Take a peek!

Four dots can be a racing caterpillar whose efforts won't be lost!
