An absolutely fantastic analysis on the excellent writing of women in Arcane created by a man. And this is why I hate the gender stereotype that men can’t write strong women. That is such fucking bullshit. I can’t stand it!

And this YouTuber (that identifies as a man) shows why.

10 Rules on how to avoid or prevent negative and derogatory stereotypes/tropes when writing women (or even just writing gender in general). Fucking put this on a poster and make every TV showrunner/production studio read it, know it, learn it and understand it. The more TV shows/movies do this and follow these rules, the more I will actually care about fictional characters that aren’t only representing myself because I need it. I will care about men. I will care about straight couples. I will care about political power and strength in numbers.

I WILL care about your story and your art if you use this:

1. Agency

2. Get HURT

3. Character First

4. “Fix” TROPES using backstory and nuance

5. Love is POWER

6. NEUTRALIZATION

7. Fantasy worlds can change stigmas and social norms

8. EMPOWERMENT can be a double-edged sword

9. Emotion =/= Hysteria & Weakness

10. Explore a VARIETY of relationships

Stop making characters caricatures. Stop taking away their agency and vulnerability. Stop simplifying them. Stop watering them down. Stop dehumanizing them!

Care about their personality. Care about their mindset: their feelings, thoughts, memories, consciousness.

Give me 4D in a character and don’t make excuses!

This analysis specifically applies to women because it’s women that are often the characters where all of this is an issue but to but honest - every gender suffers this in TV art/entertainment these days and I’m SICK OF IT!

Storytelling really suffers from these gender identity generalization issues. So you actually tell a better story when you stop generalizing gender identity in the story.

How much I care about my OCs?

They are my children and my friends🥰

To be honest, I have several OCs that 'really evil' so I will said they are my irredeemable OCs and killed them or just punish them (don't worry, I'm just doing like they were doing to my other OCs). I still care about them cause they are my essential key of my stories, but I really hate them.

All of my OCs (other irredeemable OCs) is deutorogonist in my stories. Some of their actions (maybe) can't be forgiven or inhumanely right by laws, unfortunately I can't change them as I'm just storyteller of their life (yes, I always see them in my dream and treated them like they're real people).

What I know is that they have reasons behind all of that. I try to be neutral and didn't want to play favoritism, but sometimes I will see their feelings about their action toward others and reason behind it to judge them as irredeemable OCs or not.

I will be hysterical if someone stole them as they are my one of my reasons to life... They are my friends when I'm lonely and in the dark.

I know that I'm inspired to made them because I see other tv shows or writings, but don't tell me that my OCs is a copy. (because they already fused with my other inspirations).

I have 160+ OCs right now... and I almost remember all of them. But, I don't remember their birthdays because it made me crazy if I can remember all of them.

I can't tell you their sexuality or gender in facts of them (I have to ask them first), because I'm afraid to be wrong and I don't want to category them with their sexuality. (If you already see some them in pan-pride and ace-pride, it's because I already confirm with them).

I'm uncomfortable with roleplay/rp because sometimes I feel that it's not my OCs reality or what they can do (okay, I'm just a doting parents in this case). Some my OCs are too powerful to be in troubles, so I'm anxious it will made you mad at me but I can't help it.

Always remember, I'm just a storyteller and their creator but I can't control their life or their opinion. It's their life not me.

My motto here is : If you want to know them, I will let you in😁 If you only come here to insult me or my OCs, I'm become a devil and didn't care what happen to you🙂 (I'm just saying this because I don't know what happen if you insult them as I'm still be careful not hurting them).

Law School: time management ( 10 basic rules + extra tricks)

Time management is one of the key skills that a student should master. Better managing your time and making the most of it is also a skill that will come in handy for the rest of your life.

Basic rules

1. Use a planner or a calendar or the electronic version of them

A planner will help you keep track of your assignments/due-dates/tests/exams.

2. Choose your day-off of the week

Having a lazy day when it’s all about you, and 0 about school is a must. Relaxing helps keeping you motivated and keeps your energy bar full for the rest of your week. My relaxing time is Friday night (mainly because most weeks I spend it on the train) and Saturday.

3. Prioritize your tasks

This means that you should do the most urgent tasks first. And also, when you have the choice, do the harder stuff first.

4. Learn to say “no”

If distractions come up, don’t let yourself get tempted. If you plan something scchool related, then you should stick to your plan.

5. When planning, choose realistic and achievable goals

Don’t plan to study 3 chapters a day if they are long and need more time. Plan to study small chunks and make sure that you can fulfill 100% whatever you have planned.

6. Make daily to-do lists

I make my lists every night, before I got to sleep. This way, I feel fully prepared for the next day. To-do lists will show you the things in perspective, you won’t forget any major task, you will feel in control and you willl have a list of things you need to do at hand at all times.

When making the list, try to estimate the time it might take you to finish every task and write it down. Then, keep your list with you at all times and whenever you have a “window” of free time in your day (if a 2-hour course is suspended, for example) you can pick something from that list to do depending on how much time you have to fill.

7. Use a crossing down system

When planning, use a crossing down system to feel the beauty and joy of accomplishing the tasks you’ve assigned yourself. This will keep you motivated and excited about finishing your list.

8. Take breaks

Don’t neglect the power of taking breaks, so don’t forget to squeeze these on your schedule as well. Also, make sure that you set aside enough time to nurture your social life and your hobbies, and keep in mind that balance is the end goal.

9. Break down your tasks

Break down your tasks into smaller mini-tasks and try to accomplish them one step at a time. For example, when you have to study for a test, your mini-tasks should consist of chapters/sub-chapters.

10. Overestimate the time you need for a task

This way, you will allow yourself time to transition from a task to another and be prepared for any unavoidable distractions that might come along the day.

Extra tricks

wake up early in the morning, so that you have more time during the day

pay attention in class, because it will help you a lot while studying and this saves you time

reward yourself when you achieve your goals and you get the grades you’ve worked for

study groups is a really good idea to stay accountable and study in time. If you schedule a group study session, you will most likely show up prepared to avoid any awkward situation

set “fake” deadlines so that you avoid the stress of having to do stuff last minute. I usually make myself believe that my exams are one day before than when they are set.

if you have the time and mood to do extra, do it. If you have planned to study 2 chapters today, but you could still go on and study 3 chapters, do it. This will give you some free time later in the week.
