I haven't watched mml since last spring... anything monumental happen?
I don’t know which wasthe last episode you saw (Little Engine perhaps?) but the status quo has beenthrough some pretty significant shakeups since then. “Missing Milo,” the season midpoint, wasfantastic, and served as a huge game-changer for the A-plot (Milo Murphy and his cyclone of calamity) and the B-plot (our luckless pistachio protectors and their cyclone of calamity).
Since then, there’s been a mix of plot-point episodes and stand-alones, similar to the first half of the season. I have my own personal gripes about certain elements of the pacing, but for the most part I’ve been enjoying what they’re doing, especially with the Trust Triangle (Milo, Melissa, and Zack).
I did have to mentally retcon one episode simply for the sake of my sanity because the time travel logic and character beats were so inconsistent. (Which is saying something, because @fisforfreakyme can attest that I will go to great lengths to resolve inconsistencies in canon. “Missing Milo” got multiple flowcharts.) But I seem to be in the minority concerning my feelings on “The Island of Lost Dakotas,” so I suppose your mileage may vary.
“Disaster of My Dreams” also managed to make me care (briefly) about Elliot Decker, which was a monumental accomplishment in its own right. Easily one of the highlights of the second half of the season.
So, yes. A lot has changed. Some fun things have happened. Some… weird things have happened. We’re sitting on a cliffhanger right now, with a Halloween special and a Christmas special coming this year and (I think) a resolution to the cliffhanger sometime at the beginning of next year. Ah, network airing schedules.
