Daniel (Dan) Fenton, the former CEO of Team San Jose, now serves as a partner in Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) in Atlanta, where he is responsible for the firm’s Marketing, Branding, and Tourism Strategy department. Since transitioning from Team San Jose to SAG in 2011, Dan Fenton has worked on a number of projects, including an initiative for Broward County, Florida.
During the project, SAG conducted a comprehensive research and stakeholder engagement study focused on cultural tourism in Broward County and the Fort Lauderdale area. The organization used the study to form its action recommendations, which included creating an annual event to raise awareness of artistic talent in the community, increase demand for artistic and cultural programs, and drive tourism.
After reviewing SAG’s recommendations for the signature event, the Cultural Arts Council, County, and Convention and Visitors Bureau unanimously approved the proposal. SAG’s recommendations were also widely supported by the hospitality industry and the cultural and arts community. With community approval, SAG developed the Broward 100 concept and launched a year of events that concludes with a signature event in October 2015.
