100 Days of DIY Day 16: DIY Nest Ball . . I've got my fingers crossed for this one🤞🏼🤞🏼... it may be a #pinterestfail or I may have #nailedit ... only time will tell. I'm impatiently waiting for this to dry, so I can pop the balloon and spray paint this piece of decor. I'm hoping it holds its form strong enough to be used as a decorative nest like ball, like the ones I found online that ranged in cost from $10-$30 (single or bundle packs). Which I knew I could make for free, POSSIBLY! I've saturated it in a glue and water mixture. Let that get dryish, then I coated it again in another layer of glue and water, and that is taking forever to dry. I've also spray painted a few other items, waiting on those to dry as well, so these pieces can go together up in that weird loft space I showed you the other day. 100 Days of DIY's Day 10: DIY Shelves . . I finished up a few projects that needed it, and started making some shelves for the living room wall, today. I just took some scrap wood and spray paint that I had on hand. Waiting for it to finish drying over night, then I'll hang and decorate them. I wish I had more to show you, but that's it for today. 100 Days of DIY Day 9 : Reupholstered Ottoman . About a year or two ago I bought this ugly ottoman at a yard sale for $15. It has sat in the garage collecting dust and taking up space. So, it only made sense to whip it out for a makeover during my #100daysofdiy challenge. I've had this fabric on hand for a while, also knowing I wanted to do something with it... but didn't know what (besides the throw pillows). These two together make a beautiful marriage... 100 Days of DIY Day 8 ( Day 7 cont...) Glazing and Distressing . . Today, I decided to try something....And if it worked the way I wanted it to, it could be gorgeous, If not, a disaster! Well, it worked! And I'm so glad I took the risk. I mixed my finishing wax with a dab of black paint and a dab or two of Metallic Silver paint. And yes, I measured in dabs... lol bc I just winged it and mixed it up and voila... This went from cartoony purple, to a gorgeous Metallic Plum finish. I'm in love. I did the entire bench, incase I decide to forego the fabric... and it looks so good. I need to buff it out tmrw, but I can tell already that it took the black and silver into the crevices like a champ.
