GWSS: Dev-blog #1. 5 : Plans for this week

Good day/evening/night, my flock.

First, this week I'll upload the mood boards for Felipe, Carlos, and Aisha.

And as for the update... I still need to transfer what I wrote to Twine up to where it ends, then reread everything to see how it looks, test it, and make changes if needed.

The update will include some fixes (one of them is that apparently a variable was fixed and I forgot to reset it), another POV at the end of Chapter 1 (Carlos's POV MC's birthday), and new content (the real Chapter 2, Part 1/3).

A total of more than 53,000 words; when chapter 2 is completed, the entire if should approach 100,000 words. No code.

A small disclaimer regarding word count. I'm not obsessive about it, so whether it's more or less doesn't worry me much. Besides, I always undercount.

If all goes well: I'll start transferring everything tomorrow. The rest of the week will be spent editing and fixing bugs. If I have it ready by Sunday, I might update it that day. If not, it should be on Monday (10th) or Tuesday (11th) of next week.

A tentative return

First I want to apologise for disappearing the way I did. I know a lot of you were worried and I wish I made a post sooner explaining my absence but life came at me fast and my blog and IF was the last thing on my mind at the time. However, that doesn't make it right for just disappearing without a word.

I'm really sorry for worrying you all and I hope to be better going forward with communicating with everyone.

Now for the reason and why you are all probably reading this. You know how every fanfiction writer is doomed to have the worst luck known to man? Well, I experienced that firsthand last year and this year.

The water damage in my home became black mold and I had to move out to avoid getting deathly ill. The management refused to act so we had to sue them to get any kind of repairs. I had a great blessing during the midst of that where I became a mother but also I had to have an emergency c-section which led to a difficult recovery and infection. Fell out of remission and in great pain while caring for my little one. Moved into a new place since my home was lost to black mold and forced to return to work early.

So it was a lot to deal with in a very short space of time.

During all of that I was unsure whether I would return to post a goodbye or welcome back. I was constantly going back and forth as life right now is quite complicated, with my health being abysmal while caring for a little one.

Ultimately, I have decided to not give up on The Soulforge Order. I don't know if it is the right choice, but I love this game and the people who read it so I want to try push forward. So I ask for your patience and understanding as I slowly get back into the groove of things.

I won't be able to answer asks as often as before but know I reading them and appreciate all your kind words and love for my world and characters!

I am also looking for a collaborator. One of the reasons I thought to return was that I think finding someone who can help me code and work in Twine will help make things go faster and smoother. It is a complete shot in the dark but if you enjoy IFs and love the coding side and want to want together, let me know! I'm open to working with a partner so The Soulforge Order can be revived.

Thank you everyone for all your lovely messages and thinking about me and my game even after all the silence. Your support meant the world to me when things were difficult.

I was going through your blg when I stumbled on that cake as and now I just have to know! What would the ROs reactions be if the MC made them their favourite cake?

Ooh, this one's actually really interesting, because for the first time in one of these scenario asks, Belicar/Nisa wouldn't immediately brush the MC off 👀

Belicar/Nisa would actually be a little surprised. They'd never show it, of course, but it's the last thing they'd expect the MC to do, even if they can usually anticipate the MC's emotions. They'd let out a scoff and say something blunt, then take the cake, glance at the MC, look back at the cake, and take a bite. They'd say it's 'decent' in a completely flat tone (which means they actually like it!), give the MC a couple of pats on the head, and then walk away to finish the rest.

Ada/Omar would eat the cake before the MC even had time to react. It would probably end with a stomach ache and them becoming extra clingy so the MC has to take care of them 😂

Albert/Lavina would smile from ear to ear, sit down with the MC, and insist on sharing it. At some point they'd casually say the cake is sweet, but not as sweet as the MC, then immediately realise what they just said and turn bright red.

Leire/Luca would look at the cake, then at the MC, and ask why they made it. They'd take it, hesitate for a second, and then ask if the MC wants to share it with them. Somewhere in the middle they'd quietly mumble a 'thank you.'

Rayco/Gara isn't used to receiving gifts. They've always been taught to serve others, not the other way around, and offerings to the gods are usually made for Abora rather than them. Having someone make something specifically for them would disarm them completely. They'd hold onto the cake for a while as if it was the most precious thing and wouldn't eat it.

RAORNE - Moodboard + Profile

Raorne, guardian god of Talia's forest and her child. Able to shapeshift into a giant wolf as large as a castle wall.

With a stoic face but a heart of gold, he/she's always ready to help those in need, using his/her handsome/beautiful looks to both intimidate and attract people. He/She has a cheeky side from time to time, especially when it comes to teasing his/her loved ones.

Golden, wavy hair that could be mistaken for threads of pure gold. Eyes as cold as the moon, yet of a beauty surpassing it. His/Her sun-tanned skin could be called the touch of God. You will not find anyone like him/her.

No matter where you go; the moon and the sun are always chasing each other. Until the blood makes them collide, turning them into one.

I love using TWINE for everything BUT what it is meant to be used for.

It makes such a fantastic visualizer!

Currently using it to visualize and plan out the timeline for a fanfic/comic, including small conversation snipits.

It... literally the only thing Ive been able to find to fill my specific needs when it comes to fleshing out a timeline without having to code or pin everything up on the corkboard.

Monthly Update – July 2026

Hi everyone! I hope you've all had another fantastic month! Mine has definitely been a busy one. Not like the previous months (thank goodness), but the kind of busy where I've been getting a lot done.

First of all, I've finally caught up on everything I was behind on for Chapter 4! 🥳🥳 I'm currently about halfway through the writing. So far, everything has been moving along smoothly and quickly, although I'm now reaching the scenes I've been looking forward to writing the most. They involve a few different branches depending on that you choose. Later on, there are even more branching paths toward the end of the chapter with the scenes for the ROs and Enid (if you're not romancing anyone). There's even one for your favourite renegade, with a little surprise depending on your corruption level 😏

So I have quite a bit of testing ahead of me to make sure everything works properly and all the variables behave as they should. 😅 Fingers crossed everything goes well! 🙏

On another note, I've finished the last summer specials I had planned and that also fell behind schedule. They're all set to be released throughout August, including Belicar/Nisa's special, as well as an illustration that will be available to everyone as a small compensation for the delay of this chapter 😉

Also, I've updated Act 1 by fixing several new bugs. An incredibly kind person whom I'm extremely grateful to took the time to gather them all into a file and send them to me. I highly recommend downloading the latest version and updating your game to avoid running into these issues!

That's all for now! Throughout August, my main focus will be pushing Chapter 4 forward, while also trying to stay organised so I can finish the remaining illustrations I still have pending.
