Ayo! I think I haven’t posted anything of MINE on Tumblr for a bit - I’ve been insanely busy. I joined the #100devs bootcamp back in February to get myself back up to speed on WebDev and fill in the gaps. I’ve been building websites for small business and independent artists for 15+ years on a freelance basis, but with the pandemic and business slowing down + tech companies embracing remote work, it looks like the perfect time to return to working for actual companies again. And honestly, I LOVE being able to work with a passionate graphic designer and project manager because *I* feel I am a terrible graphic designer and project manager (all deadlines are yesterday! YESTERDAY!).
So this makes me really busy lately because coding is something that I actually really love and can easily get obsessed with - it really IS my idea of a good time. As a result, I’m not reading as much (hence, the dearth of Terry Pratchett quotes all of a sudden), I’m not playing piano/darbuka as much as I had been, I’m not relaxing AT ALL, and it’s been kind of a lot.
And I started applying for jobs early, even though there’s still 2 months left in this bootcamp, just to desensitize myself to rejection emails (I’m a delicate little flower) but then I keep getting interviews instead! I’ve made it to round 3 with three different companies and two of them ghosted me completely, But hilariously, one tech lead walked me through the code “he” wrote and then the very next day I discovered his code, comments and all, were copied straight from W3C school, SO funny to me!
So that’s what’s going on with me! I think probably the only one who really cares at all IS me, but you never know on the internet!
