DECEMBER 10: INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
Deve essere che non siamo tutti umani, che non sia sufficiente appartenere alla famiglia dell'homo sapiens, né avere sviluppato ragionamenti e pensieri astratti. Deve essere che la Dichiarazione Universale dei Diritti Umani non sia così universale né così umana né così reale.
Deve essere che il fatto di essere in grado di comunicarci, come esseri viventi superiori e razionali non sia stato sufficiente visto che le parole non hanno ancora battuto i proiettili, deve essere che non siamo così superiori né così razionali.
Deve essere che i bambini costretti a prestare servizio come soldati non rientrino nell'articolo 4 della Dichiarazione contro la schiavitù e che neanche la tratta di persone violi questo articolo. Deve essere che a seconda del tuo reddito abbia il diritto di studiare o no ed è meglio che sia alto perché altrimenti, forse non hai accesso all'assistenza sanitaria.
Deve essere che la violenza, i maltrattamenti, le torture subite da così tanti collettivi in tutto il mondo non tolgano il sonno ai nostri governanti. Deve essere che il problema sia che la gonna è molto corta.
Deve essere che a volte smetta di essere umano per diventare un rifugiato, uno squilibrato, un disabile, che non sia più tu, che debba dimenticare il tuo nome perché ora sei un aggettivo. Deve essere che i marciapiedi, le banche e la strada contino anche come case decenti, così come è lavoro dignitoso lavorare 12 ore al giorno e non ricevere alcun salario.
Deve essere che si devano creare muri, che si debba delimitare il territorio e se non sei da qui e passi il confine metti a rischio la tua vita e se non lo passi sicuramente morirai, ma che importa una vita? Inoltre, non sei umano. Tutte le persone che muoiono di fame non lo sono neanche. Deve essere che il Mediterraneo abbia più speranza di molti paesi perché nessuno mette i propri figli su una barca a meno che l'acqua non sia più sicura della terra.
Deve essere che la libertà di espressione meglio che sia del pensare, che pensare puoi pensare, ma meglio non dirlo perché secondo il dio per cui preghi, aggiungi o sottrai dalla lista umana e non pensare nemmeno a difendere i tuoi diritti che ti fermano, ti avverto che le prigioni sono piene di persone che hanno osato parlare.
Deve essere che la tua origine, il tuo sesso, la tua età, la tua salute e condizione sociale, la tua religione, il tuo orientamento sessuale, il tuo stato civile abbiano una certa influenza sui tuoi diritti e sulle tue libertà, caro umano. Ma nonostante tutto, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Malala Yousafzai e la grande lista di combattenti che non ho nominato ci hanno mostrato che in assenza di diritti abbiamo un dovere: lottare per loro.

Furthermore, you are not human. All the people who die of hunger are not either. It must be that the Mediterranean has more hope than many countries because no one puts their children on a boat unless the water is safer than the earth.
It must be that freedom of expression better if it is just of thinking, that thinking you can think, but better not to say it because according to the god you pray for, you add or subtract from the human list and do not even think about defending your rights because they will stop you, I warn you that the prisons are full of people who dared to speak.
It must be that your origin, your sex, your age, your health and social status, your religion, your sexual orientation, your marital status have a certain influence on your rights and your freedom, dear human. But in spite of everything, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Malala Yousafzai and the great list of fighters I have not mentioned have shown us that in the absence of rights we have a duty: to fight for them.
